Julius Detmold (1854–1905) was a German painter and illustrator, best known for his work as a graphic artist during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His style is characterized by a combination of realism and a strong influence from the Art Nouveau movement, which was prominent during his time.

Born in Hanover, Germany, Detmold studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts, a prestigious institution that nurtured many artists of the period. His early work primarily focused on traditional painting, but he gradually transitioned into graphic art, which became his main focus.

Detmold's illustrations gained him considerable recognition, particularly his work on books and periodicals. His art often depicted scenes of nature, animals, and mythology, rendered with a delicate attention to detail.
